INAUGURAL FREE YOUTH EVENT 'BLOOM FESTIVAL' REVEALS FIRST LINE-UP ANNOUNCEMENT

Starving Kids and Music Industry College have revealed the first eleven artists from their inaugural youth event 'Bloom Festival' to be held during Youth Week between Friday, April 6 and Sunday, April 15.

VOIID and Asha Jefferies will be taking to venues across Fortitude Valley including Phase 4 Records, Tym's Guitars and 38 Berwick St with an additional nine artists and three venues. More to be announced.

A celebration and showcase of the achievements of Brisbane's youth, Bloom Festival is organized and run by a group of students from Fortitude Valley's, Music Industry College with guidance from industry professionals and support from the Brisbane City Council.

"Being able to put together Youth Week with fellow students from Music Industry College has really opened my mind up, not only creatively, but also commercially. It's been great to experience the ins and out of the industry in reality, I can apply this knowledge to my music which is fantastic," said student, Jack Giess.

As well as showcasing the industry savvy of Brisbane's teens, Bloom Festival also aims to shine a bright light on the young, artistic talent in Queensland through its bookings with recent high-school graduate Asha Jefferies taking center stage in this first line-up announcement.

"38 Berwick St is like a second home to me, and it's a venue run by students from Music Industry College. What a perfect venue to celebrate youth! I'm so excited to take part in Bloom Festival," said Jefferies.

Asha Jefferies will also be joined by VOIID, Concrete Surfers, Cold Pie, Dopamine, Stray Dog Saviours, Guava Lava, CommaComma, TOBI and Lucy Dron across six dates and five venues.

"I'm super excited to be involved with Bloom Festival for Youth Week, and especially keen to be supporting VOIID," said emerging, post-rock artists Lucy Dron.
