“atmospheric” – Brooklyn Vegan
“a signpost for inventive and memorable song-writing…the effect is both atmospheric and hypnotic” – Punknews.org
“Melodic and melancholic, Oslow’s pensive full-length debut proves why they are Sydney’s best-kept secret.” – The Brag
Sydney post-punk outfit OSLOW are stoked to announce a string of summer tour dates together with a music video for ‘Sewing’, taken from their brilliant debut S/T album out now on Resist Records. OSLOW will hit the east coast for five shows in Canberra, Wollongong, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney this November and December with supports to be announced.

The video for ‘Sewing’ was filmed in the house where Oslow wrote most of their debut album, capturing the feel of lived in spaces, showing some of their home but as little of them as they could. On the single, singer Dylan Farrugia explains, “Sewing was a song that came together pretty quickly early on during the writing process. It was a fun song to write and really set the tone for a more pop-punk leaning record. The song is about letting your illness fester, to the point where you believe it defines your identity. Not being able to recognise what it means to be well or unwell.”

Off the back of the success of 2015’s No Longer Concerns Me 7”, the four-piece released their long-awaited debut full-length Oslow in February this year to critical acclaim. In joining forces with producer/engineer Dylan Adams (DMA’s, James Blake) to record the album, Oslow honed their craft to exercise a more purposeful and deliberate method to their song writing. Oslow was premiered internationally by Brooklyn Vegan, and locally nabbed Indie Album of The Week in The Brag. Kill Your Stereo called it “a work of art”, The Music noted it’s at once “tense and soothing”, with industry body AIR dubbing them Indie Artist of the Week, calling the record “an enthralling debut album.” It was play-listed on Triple R and SYN FM with first single ‘Cold Dark Space’ receiving spins on FBi and triple j’s Short.Fast.Loud and Home & Hosed.
Since their formation five years ago, Oslow – Dylan Farrugia (vocals, bass), Jacob Rossi (guitar, vocals), Sean Hampstead (guitar, vocals) and Alex Ashtiani (drums) – have captivated audiences and critics alike with their alternative post-punk sound, sharing stages with highly respected indie, punk and hardcore heavyweights Title Fight, PUP, La Dispute, Balance & Composure, with a show with Sorority Noise in Sydney later this month. This summer tour will be Oslow’s last headline shows for 2017, and ones not to be missed.
