Brisbane dual vocalist band Shorelines are really kicking goals on the Australian pop-punk scene, fast developing a fan-base after the release of their debut EP New Heights.
The four-piece released New Heights on May 26 (2017) which instantly catapulted to the iTunes top 20, ranking 16th. Quite an impressive feat for a band who formed in February 2017. The band have also just been confirmed to support fellow US punk-rockers, Real Friends on their Australian tour on Friday July 28 at Brisbane’s Phoenix Arts Theatre.
Shorelines also launches the EP with their headlining show at Brisbane’s Foundry Records next Saturday July 12 (all ages).
Shorelines heralds from Brisbane and formed in the wake of the demise of pop-punks finest former risers, Call The Shots and Rum, Forest, Rum. Harry White (Lead vocals and bass guitar) and Dylan Thompson (Lead vocals and rhythm guitar) were former members of Call The Shots – a band that toured alongside the likes of With Confidence, You Me At Six, Tonight Alive, Short Stack, The Getaway Plan, The Story So Far, Mest, The Wonder Years, As It Is – and Sean Fisher (Lead guitar) and Shaman Grayson (Drums) who were former members of Rum, Forest Rum.
The “New Heights” EP sets the bar high for their future releases and throws them straight into the depths of the pop/punk scene. With catchy melodies, relatable lyrics and elaborate instrumentals, this release proves to be something completely unique and exciting for the genre. “New Heights” EP has clocked up over 100,000 streams on Spotify and the music video for the single of the same name has also attracted over 15,000 YouTube views since its release in May.
