The brand new album for The Associates TALES OF A RICH GIRL is set for release on 7 July 2017. As a special feature the band is celebrating the album launch at The Gov in a 'live and interviewed' format combining the full album performed live, plus interviews with the band 'on the couch' between tracks.
MC Andy Hale will discuss with the band the 2yr journey of this album, which took them from Adelaide to LA with seven-time Grammy winner Jim Scott as producer, then to Nashville with four-time Grammy winner Vance Powell.
The night will also feature great friends and guests Nikko Kipridis playing an acoustic set, Paul White on organ, Geo Heathcote on sax and harp, and Mitch Rosmini on piano.
THE ASSOCIATES 2017 BIO:
Since their humble beginnings winning the 2014 ARBA award for 'Most Outstanding New Act' THE ASSOCIATES have truly developed into one of Australia's most uniquely new and exciting neo blues acts. Within 2 short years The Associates have quickly become a regular at Australian festivals including Mordi, Geetroit, Blenheim, Echuca, Semaphore and Bendigo, along with premier venues such as the Cherrybar (Melbourne), Lazybones (Sydney), and the Gov (Adelaide).
Their debut album Red Dress was tracked in various studios around Adelaide from April to June with the guys heading to Nashville for final production and mixing with Andrija Tokic.
In February ’17, The Associates made it to the semifinals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. As the first band to make it this far from SA has been a massive achievement and one that certainly turned the heads of many blues fans. Further to this a US based management contract was signed after showcasing in the famous Nashville band room the Bourbon St Blues and Boogie Club just prior to the IBC. The Associates are currently planning their first US tour on the back of their new album and success in Memphis.
