Brain injuries come in varying degrees from various situations.
They can be caused through sporting injuries, medical ailments, vehicle accidents or from being the victim of a coward punch but whichever way you look at it brain injuries are an affliction that had touched and affected the lives of many Australians.
This Sunday, May 21, the third annual Music for the Brain charity event will be held at the North Cairns Tigers Football Club, corner of Behan and MacNamara Streets, Cairns, with the aim of raising money, but more importantly awareness for brain injuries.
In conjunction with Synapse, the event is a family friendly affair with children’s activities including Ozkick as well as a sausage sizzle, raffles galore and of course live music from some of Cairns leading covers and originals bands.
Music kicks off at 12.15 p.m with Vivien Aisi, Serenity, Stevens & Stevens, Band of Besties, Bigfoot Mafia, Cairns Jam, Machine Machine, Drewboy and the Sax Addicts and Clam Sandwich all donating their time, with a special reunion show from local all girl band Chakra BC who have reformed for the occasion.
Entry is by way of a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to Synapse.
