Melbourne-via-Wagga Wagga metalcore dudes Windwaker are today releasing their debut single CASTAWAY along with a stark, striking video for the track.
Recorded in September at STL Studios and Produced, Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Sonny Truelove and Additional engineering by Evan Lee, Castaway thematically explores the fear of ageing; not fulfilling your dreams/goals and leading a life without meaning or purpose.
Castaway is Windwaker's first studio produced song and will be on their upcoming EP, which was also recorded at STL Studios and is also their first song under their new genre, which is a complete stylistic change from their pop roots.
Windwaker premiered the stark and energetic video for Castaway at killyourstereo.com yesterday to a waiting army of fans and Josh Merriel spun the track on Short Fast Loud on triple j last night.
The video for Castaway was filmed at The White Space, Fitzroy in Melbourne and was brought to life by Cinematographer/Editor Jordan Tan. The filmclip features actor Andrew Rance and vocalist for Windwaker Will King.
The 4 piece technical metalcore band from Melbourne, Australia were founded in November 2014 in Wagga Wagga, NSW as a pop rock project that quickly turned heavy. Will King on Vocals, Jesse Holt on Guitar, Indey Salvestro on Bass and Chris Lalic on Drums, they relocated from country Wagga Wagga, NSW to Melbourne in 2015, with goals of writing, recording, releasing and touring from their new base of operations.
Windwaker are launching the single Thursday, November 10 at Your Local, a club night featured at The Irish in Knox. Supporting them is Winfield and XURE. Entry is $10 all night.
