Polish Club Share New Single 'Beat Up' + Announced First Ever Headline Tour

October 12, 2016

Right off the bat of touring with Northeast Party House, Polish Club have today released a new single Beat Up and announced a string of dates for their first ever headline tour.

Beat Up, the latest blast of raw, crashing soul from the Sydney duo premiered last night on Good Nights with Linda on triple j and is available from here. This is the first taste of what’s to come from Polish Club’s forthcoming album (early 2017) which will be released on their label Double Double through Island Records Australia.

LISTEN TO ‘BEAT UP’ HERE

Those acquainted with Novak (guitar/vocal) and John-Henry’s (drums) six-track EP of late 2015 and its three singles Able, Did Somebody Tell Me and Beeping will know this: you only need to hear it once to need it bad. It's been that way for nearly two years, since Novak first slammed his six wiry strings and magnificently sand-blasted vocal cords into the maelstrom of John-Henry's furious punk-reared drumming.

Beeping hit Triple J's Top 15 airplay chart, and Polish Club wound up the seventh most played act in the whole Unearthed sprawl in 2015. This was followed by the double A-side 7” My House and Blood & Bone.

In the last 18 months Polish Club have blitzed enough venues to generate a whole new category of sweat-spattered superlatives. And that was just opening for the likes of Courtney Barnett and Gang of Youths.

PRAISE FOR POLISH CLUB

"A gritty garage rock two-piece unafraid to throw themselves into the action… refreshingly honest." The AU Review

"People were … literally blown away by an absolute musical reckoning." themusic.com.au

"A frenzy of flailing limbs… as slick as Novak’s rockabilly hairstyle.” aaabackstage.com

Now it's time for Sydney's most casually explosive guitar-drums rock-soul duo to claim their own stage as they launch Beat Up. Dates below.
