Oz Comic-Con, Melbourne style......WOW!
I wasn't sure what to expect with my very first interstate Con.
I had heard whispers that the Melbourne Cons are something else, so I had to see for myself.
And it did not disappoint!
The cosplay was the best that I have seen....hands down. UNBELIEVABLE!
And the quality! WOW! You could not move without running into another fantastic costume that seemed to be better than the last one that you saw. Impressive!
The variety of stall holders was huge. If it exists in pop culture land, you could purchase it here. I was in heaven!
I needed a bigger suitcase to bring home! (And yes...they sold them there as well! Batman, Superman, Star Wars, Minions.....do I need to go on?)
My personal favorite "area" of the con had to be the Artist Alley......6 isles of the best International & local artists showcasing some of their work & concepts that they are currently working on.
I was like a kid in a candy store. (and a broke kid by the time I came home!)
From my personally signed Dragonball Z prints by Jackson Caspersz to having a great chat to one of my favorite artists of all time, Stewart McKenny, about The Crow, Masters of the Universe & Steel Panther amongst other things, this alone was worth the 1500km round trip.
The Superstar guests this year were the best lineup that I have seen at Oz Comic-Con.
John Barrowman (IN A FREAKING DRESS!), Lucy Lawless, Robert Patrick, Elisa Taylor.....there is some amazing talent right there. Throw in Paul McGillion, Rachel Luttrell, Callum Blue, Rose McIver....the list was HUGE. Unfortunately I could not get around to each & every panel, but the ones that I could attend, were unbelievable. There were some VERY inspirational words spoken by some of these guests that will stick with me for life.
